HFR’s album top 2011
Here we are once more: HFR’s album top 2011 and this year’s releases compilation. It has become a rather eclectic mix of music with, a little to my own surprise, quite some electronic orientated albums in it.
And again: the exact order of the album top doesn’t really matter. It’s only use is to show if an album is rated as one of the best 3, 5, 10, 20, etc. of this year. In my humble opinion that is, of course.

It's really nice to see some Belgian albums in your list rather than sticking to the same UK-US formula. A trip to HFR often gives me new inspiration and music and makes my day. Thanks a bunch and have a great 2012!

first of all: you are the best! this is so much work! thank you! honestly, its always a pleasure to see how much afford you put in this.
Yesterday, in my car, it came to my mind that Wild Beasts weren't in my album top 50. But I do enjoy it and it must have been some copy / paste error or something. Anyway, it should have somewhere between no. 30 or 40.
And yes, it is an awful lot of work. If I would not do this if I did not make these mixes for myself. I just love to play these compilations on long journeys, it's like my own radio station: no DJ's and only good songs.
And part of the secret is that I try to keep up during the year. When archiving the albums I select the best song of the album as soon as possible and I save good singles I come across.

I do love this blog. I have found so much good new music from here. Lanterns on the Lake? Amazing - loving it. Thankyou for all the good new music. And all the work you do. This best of 2011 will be on a playlist for a long time to come I suspect. I'm still enjoying best of 2010 though! So thankyou!
I'm glad you all like my blog and the year round up post. 2012 albums will follow as soon as I have listened to an album worth posting.
